I would have given it 5 stars if the screen would lid up when I raise my wrist. I usually have to purposely raise it (like turn and raise in a quick motion, otherwise, it won't detect it), and there is no button on the device to press and get to the home screen. I have to touch or double tabs or something like that if the wrist raise doesn't work. Besides those little annoyances, the device is great for activity tracking. I have enabled the 6-month free trial of the premium subscription service and so far the only thing I see useful is for those who need exercise instructions. For the most part, I use this to track my cardio activities (walking, running, playing tennis, treadmill, etc.) For those activities, it works great. Even so, the tracking is not highly accurate. Sometimes I stopped moving already, but it step counts still goes up. That would skew the actual number of steps one has done. Anyway, for the price, I would highly recommend this device. No need for all the other notifications/add-ons since I prefer to use my phone for that and I don't want those things to bother me throughout the day either. Battery life is great! I bought the Apple Watch during Prime days (July 11-12 this year?) and returned it within 4 days of use and bought this instead. It was a good decision for me.

My journey for the right fitness tracker has taken me down several roads. My ex-bf bought me a Samsung Galaxy watch. I really didn’t need all the features and it stopped charging within a year and a half. Then I bought a $20 fitness tracker I loved, the attachment for the band broke after about a year (best $20 purchase ever!). I then bought an Amazon Halo, and found out two weeks later they canceled the whole Halo program. So I found myself looking for yet another fitness tracker. I did lots of research and for the price, the Fitbit Charge 5 seemed to fit all my needs. It is perfect for me! I like the rectangle face and it’s slimmer profile. The band is the most comfortable out of all of them and it feels secure on my wrist. The quality is excellent. The setup was a BREEZE, it basically set itself up. The charger attaches firmly to the FitBit and it charges decently fast. The screen is very easy to read and a great size. Probably the biggest selling point for me was the built-in GPS. I can’t recommend it

I had a Charge 2 HR for a long time, and it was quite good. This is much better. I don't know exactly how that evolution was spaced out in the intervening models, but I'm really impressed with the Charge 5. It adds some extra sensors -- most notably for me Sp02 -- and improves the interface, both how it's controlled with tapping and swiping (even when it's wet!), and how it works and looks. I admit I'm a sucker for the high res color screen. Admittedly the main themes you have to pick from are somewhat odd in many of their choices, but I found one that has everything I want on it and looks nice. It's great that there's integrated GPS now. Even if some reports suggest this can be a little inaccurate, it's still better than no GPS -- and you have the option of using your phone's GPS if you've got that on you, just like with older models, regardless. It's cool that you can use it for paying for stuff, too. Battery life appears to be as good as the Charge 2 HR's, and I like the way it magnetically attaches to the charger more. Great device.
